There's been something fishy with the weather all over the world. Nothing too drastic; no Christmas in July or anything like that. But there's been fog. Thick, heavy fog. So thick you can't even see your hand more than a few millimeters in front of you. Weird, huh? But that's not the worst of it. As if the weather was bad enough, stranger things are happening, because this fog is doing something that no ordinary fog should do. It's taking people. When the fog forms and the people walk into it, they're gone. Disappeared. And no one knows where they've been taken to.
In the late summer of 2007 was when these incidents of people disappearing were first recorded from Japan and other countries all over the world. Though the public didn't know what they were, these Digital Gates with their signature fog began snapping up Earth's children, anywhere from nine to eighteen years of age. These children were brought to the Digital World, a universe that parallels our own, where they met strange creatures called Digital Monsters, or Digimon. Some befriended the monster, while others fought them. The Digisoul--an essence not heard of before the appearance of humans--came to be known, and those that had chosen to partner a Digimon used it to make it stronger. No one knew why this was happening. They still don't know. But with the power of the Digisoul released, the Digital World is slowly turning to chaos. An unknown dark power is rising, and the four Holy Beasts who have guardened the Digital World for so long are growing restless. Times are changing, that's for sure. The only question is: what will you do about it?
