Sorry to get your hopes up as far as I'm aware its not on the cards but I do think with all the anime's being made into films at the moment there is hope, unfortunatly we might have to wait until they try a live action pokemon movie.
You see Pokemons managed to maintain mass audience popularity appealing to young children and the fans of the orriginal games and serries are reaching/are adults which will put the show in prime position to go for a live action film in the next five years. The pokemon film might not happen because it would be incredibly difficult to convert into a live action film but its in our best interests if they do try it.
If they see a live action pokemon film is being made they may green light a digimon movie which is actually alot more viable in terms of plot (its alot darker) and the fact that it uses real world locations as well as a fantasy world.
The biggest challenge is actually writing it, personally I'd go with serries one simply because its the serries most people are aware of.
I'd shoot the very first sequence as digimon adventure because it introduces all the characters and tells the audience how they are connected, it would be easier to shoot than the digital world and would help satisfy fans because we'd be sticking to the script where as in the rest of the film it would have to be changed.
the kids have to go to summer camp and they have to go to the digital world but after that the film gets extremely difficult, it took a very long time for all the digimon to get to the ultimate level and I think I'd probably cap the film at that stage.
As for cast, the only real option is to go for unknowns.
