Don't know if any of you are Nightwish fans, so it might not be the best thing to post this on THIS forum, but I gotta get it out of my system.
So, if you haven't heard of Nightwish, it used to be a Symphonic Power Metal band. It still exists, but it's no longer Symphonic, or Metal. Or God forbid, Power. What they did was, change the singer, the frontwoman of the band.
Their previous vocal was Tarja Turunen, a Finnish opera singer. Well actually, she is not really an opera singer, but she does wonders with her voice. So basically, with her voice, and the heavy music Nightwish played, together they were a Symphonic Power Metal band.
Then an idiot called Tuomas Holopainen, the guy who together with Tarja created Nightwish, wanted to get more fans, so he fired Tarja by writing her a letter (which was public) in which he wrote some crap to turn the fans against Tarja and to make them think 'oh gosh, that poor, poor Tuomas'. Idiot, as I said.
So Tarja started her solo career, and Tuomas found a new singer. Actually, he hired merely a woman, not much of a singer. And that woman is Anette Olzon. Her awful popish voice destroyed Nightwish. Now, I know it's not her 'fault' for becoming the next Nightwish singer, but the least she could do is sing Tarja's songs with more respect, and in the way she can sing. And not try to sing the tones she CAN'T hit and end up squeaking in front of hundreds of 'fans'.
Besides her bad voice, her style just sucks. With Tarja in the band, Nightwish was pretty unique. She knew how to dress on stage. She was an idol to many many girls and women all around the world, including myself. And then here you have dearest Nettie who goes on stage, pretending to sing metal, wearing a green dress with flowers. Anyone have a gun? Or at least a potato?
In counclusion, Nightwish is no longer Symphonic, not even close to Power, and nowhere near Metal. I hope Tuomas and his Popwish and his Popfans all burn in a popish he**. Pop on, people.

All I hate about this is that Nightwish was really one of a kind. I like Simone (Epica's vocalist) and I'm pretty fond of Magica's songs, but nothing was or will be like Nightwish with Tarja. Now that that's gone, there are a lot more bands to listen to, but none like Nightwish. I just think it was a way big loss for the metal world. Stupid Tuomas.
