I want to hear real reasons for liking one over the other; please don't turn this into a flame war =P

Digimon- more story structure, teaches life lessons, brings something new into play each time around aside from just characters. I would also like to point out that digimon don't fight "to see whose the best"- they fight to protect.
Pokemon is ok for very small kids who can't follow a complex plot line and just like pretty colors and things that repetively say their own name. Season 1 was really the only one that held its ground as a good anime, even then you had to watch the sub version to get the whole experience.

i agree. some of the pokemon are cute but so are a lot of the digimon. two of my friends collected the pokemon cards just for cuteness. one of them asked me to do a gijinka drawing of two of them not to long ago actually. both of them are extremely cute so i'm having a hard time getting human features put into them.

Which ones? I bet I could find you some anthro/gijinkas already made to help you out (FA has, like, a bagillion pokemon and digimon arts). Refs are always nice, even if its just to see how someone else approached a certain area.

Yeah, pokemon was usually just the same thing over and over, whereas digimon had a good story arc (usually two in fact). And I like how digimon fight for what's right. They're heroes (at least the ones partnered with digi-destined). Pokemon aren't nearly as heroic. I also loved the digital aspect of digimon. Every computer felt like a link between me and this digital fantasy world.

i agree with RT, dont get me wrong i like both shows but pokemon is the same stuff over and over again as with the games. but digimon has the chance to change the storyline and isn't stuck on a set path
pokemon: catch pokemon, enter gyms and enter a tournament and the end. next season start all over again x(
digimon: they had digi destined, tamers, dats like a police force and heck they even changed into digimon themselfs in frontier instead of having partners the possiablites are endless

Not to mention, as much as i love Satoshi, he sucks at his job. Its like, the 7th season and how many pokemon does he actually have? Like, 20? 30? He keeps giving them away/letting them go!!!11

my little brother collects pokemon cards, and l dont undrestand why? digimon is by far the best and they are just to cute... but still it does teach you things, like standing up for your friends and not to give up. pokemon just teaches you how to battle (for the like - four kajillon games they have out). it defenity surprises me that pokemon is still going and digimon went off air. because in a way, pokemon is sort of not that in anymore. and all my friends in NC collect digimon cards games and figures... But it is your opinoin wether you like digimon or pokemon. and my opinion is digimon..

As aforementioned, pokemon entertains small children and those who don't want to follow a complex story line in most cases. So yeah, kids tend to pick pokemon ("I can learn a valuable lesson about friendship and life or watch tiny yellow mice electrocute each other until their heads explode"- guess which one they pick)

I like both because of the music and characters change into something different like evolution/digivolution but i find digimon (anime) is much better then pokemon due to it's story plot and the characters and lot funnier then pokemon and you don't understand what pokemon are saying.

i agree, digimon can kick pokemon butt, besides, digivolution goes further, have you ever seen a pokemon go further than stage three, i don't think so. and there's just enough digimon, they made way to many pokemon just to try to make pokemon cooler

I'd like to say this just in case its does get seen by somebody lol
In digimon you can only get one digimon which is pretty good and they dont have pokeballs,so they let them walk around with them.Digimon can speak english,Pokemon repeat the same word over and over again, well if ''Pika'' is actully a word.
Pokemon do teach things friendship and that friends are importing but they also give out that being lazy is ok,thats what I think, for instance using pokeballs to hold their pokemon and the pokeballs get smaller.
Don't get me wrong I like Pokemon,I do watch when I get the chance but DIGIMON RULES!!!
