Tale 1: Awakening the Dragon
"Hi my name's Daichi. Daichi Hikari. I'm thirteen and unlike most kids my age I'm not into too many things kids my age are. I like fishing and just relaxing with my cat Jojo and I live with my Grandpa who owns a resturaunt in Japan. I know my life seems pretty boring but it's Heaven to me. Although my whole life turned around when I got into a popular game everyone is talking about. It's called DMO, Digimon Online. It all started when I was fishing with my Granps on a bright saturday morning."
"Grandpaaaaaa! Can we move someplace else the fish aren't biting here!" Daichi complained.
"What does it take for you to be patient boy!" His Grandpa yelled. "Maybe your impatience is whats keeping you from having friends."
"That's not true!
" Daichi stood and shook his Grandfather constantly. "C'mon can I go someplace else to fish? This part of the lake is so empty."
Daichi's Grandpa did not answer, so he shook him even harder until- "FINE THEN! You can go fishing somewhere else but be sure you're fishing in this lake." But before his Grandfather could even finish Daichi dashed off hoping to find a better fishing spot.
Daichi had finally found a perfect spot to cast his hook. Getting ready to through the liner Daichi stopped and froze as he noticed something floating down the lake. "What is that?" He asked himself.
It appeared that was floating was a card. He got his fishing rod ready to catch the card before it got anymore wet. Catching it with the hook he reeled in the card. "Phew! It's not that wet!" Daichi said.
Daichi looked at the card, and on it was a picture of a blue dragon. "Wait! This is a digimon card!" Daichi noticed. On the back of the card it said Digimon Online. Feeling more excited than ever Daichi knew about Digimon Online from commercials and competitons featured on tv. Plus alot of kids his age had been getting into the hype. And now it was Daichi's turn.
"Anyways there you have it! Thats how I found this card 2 days ago and now for the first time I'm gonna try DMO."
Daichi walked to the nearest DMO Game Center. Inside the large game building were many people. And most of them were watching the mega screens as "Tamers" faced off in a virtual reality world where battles in an artificial Digital World unfolded. The large crowds cheered and with excitement Daichi couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"This.... Is.... Too cool!"
Daichi's excitement grew more and more as tamers battled each other. Finally it was Daichi's turn to experience the awesomeness that was known as Digimon.
"Um.... where do I register to play?" Daichi asked himself. Daichi walked all throughout the building looking for a registration stand but couldn't find one until- "BUMP!!"
"AH! Really sorry I ran into you!" He apologized.
"You should watch where your going you know?" Said the boy arrogantly.
"You don't gotta be a jerk about it?" Daichi said under his breath. "Hey! Your Jack!"
"You've heard about me?"
Jack said with a smirk on his face.
"Yeah! Your the really short kid! We go to the same school!"
"............." Jack was silent. "What did you say about me?" Jack grew furious with three veins popping out of his head.
As Jack grew angrier Daichi noticed the registration stand right behind Jack. "Hey um excuse me please I'm gonna go try me some Digimon Online. Hope to play against you!" Daichi said.
"Oh we're gonna battle."
As Daichi registered for DMO he got a small electronic flip open device called a DMO Digivice from the woman signing him up. "Are you a newcomer to DMO?" The woman asked. Daichi replied with the answer yes. "OH! Then come with me." the woman said.
The woman took Daichi into a back room where there was a machine called a DMO Transporter. "All new players to DMO get to start playing immediatly to enjoy the experience. Please step on to the DMO transporter so I can send you to the Artificial Digital World."
As Daichi stepped on to the transporter he looked at his Digivice and the card he found. "Digimon Online, I can't believe I'm gonna play it!"
As the transporter started lighting Daichi started to fade away until he was gone. Daichi's body started falliing through a sea of technological structures and formations and eventually it all started to materialize itself into tree's, mountains, water, and many other Earthly landscapes.
As he kept falling Daichi finally hit the ground bumping his head on a rock
. "Thats gonna take some getting use to." He said. "Wow! So this is Digimon!" Daichi marveled the area he was in. Inside the forest he was he noticed little pink playful digimon chasing eachother, bird like digimon flying over the tree's, and could even feel the tremendous stomping of large tyranno like digimon from afar. "I can't believe I'm actually playing,
I'm still in shock!"
But Daichi's quiet gentle walk in the woods was interuppted by a large, blue winged, sharp beak like digimon almost blowing him away with most of the tree's in the forest. "AAAAAAH! What is that!"
"Are you stupid? This is a digimon!" A familiar voice said.
On the back of this dangerously winged terror was none other than Jack. "Heh! Your gonna get it...... Um? I'm sorry I never quite caught your name?"
"It's Daichi Hikari.
"
"Right right right! Daichi your gonna get it!" Jack yelled ferociously! Jack got out his DMO Digivice and a card with a picture of strong winds on it. "CARD SLASH!" He said as he slashed the card through the card reader on his digivice. "GUSTAVO WIND JAYWINGMON!"
Jack's digimon Jaywingmon started flapping his wings and the started making extreme catastrophic winds blowing away tree's and tiny digimon alike. Although, surprisingly, Daichi was okay as he was still standing in the same spot with his eye's sparkling in amazement.
"Cool." Daichi said.
"What the hell are you saying cool for! I'M GONNA FREEKIN BLOW YOU AWAY FOR MAKING FUN OF MY SIZE!!!!!" Jack got out the same card and slashed it through his digivice.
Jaywingmon attacked once more with Gustavo Wind, except this gust was much stronger than the last almost blowing Daichi to the mountain tops.
Daichi got up and ran for his life once the winds stopped. Hiding behind a tree he thought to himself "What am I stupid! His digimon can blow away tree's like it's no one's business!" Suddenly Jack spotted Daichi and Jaywingmon blew away the tree he was hiding behind (with the longest root of the tree banging him on the head).
"Do you even have a digimon?" Jack asked.
Daichi stopped and thought for a moment
. "YES I DO!" Daichi said. He got out of his pocket the digimon card he found and rose it up for Jack to see "ATTACK MY PARTNER!!" Although holding it up didn't do a thing as he looked more stupid than a dog trying to open a jack in box. Jaywingmon attacked with another Gustavo Wind.
"Noob..... You have to summon the digimon through your digivice." Jack said. "Flip open your digivice and put the digimon card in the card slot."
Daichi did so and he tried once more- "O MIGHTY PARTNER I SUMMON THEE!....." Yet again he looked even stupider than before. Jaywingmon let loose another Gustavo Wind blowing Daichi into a huge hard rock.
"You have to summon him by saying "realize"." Jack exclaimed.
"OW! I don't think I like this game that much now." Daichi rubbed the big bump on his head from hitting the rock and thought for a moment. He saw a flashback of a moment he had with his Grandpa back when he was little.
It was the day he was learning how to fish and he was not doing very good not able to get even a nibble. "Grandpa I don't think the fish like me."
"That's nonsense grandson."
"But they keep swimming off with my bait!"
"That's because they're supposed to. It's a challenge my boy."
"I hate challenges." Daichi said angrily.
"Here give me your fishing rod. Ya'know Daichi there are many challenges you'll face as you grow up. And there will be one's that you can't back down from. But when you're faced with a challenge, stand tall and firmly keep your feet on the ground. Never runaway, but most importantly, it's good to have fun with some of them! Show excitement and enthuisiam, and even if you lose or win, be humble and always gain knowledge to help in your next challenge." Daichi's Grandfather had caught a fish with ease while talking to Daichi. "Patience is a virtue as well, and a positive attitude will help you keep your patience. Always remember this.
Coming back to reality the words his Grandpa told him long ago gave Daichi confidence. He stood up. Looked up at Jaywingmon and said "I've been spending so much time being scared I forgot that I was supposed to have fun!"
Daichi grabbed his DMO Digivice and held it up. He yelled "REALIZE PARTNER!"
A powerful light flashed as a glowing sleeping dragon materialized in front of him. "You must be... my partner." Daichi said.
The glowing dragon opened his eye's and asked "Where am I? Who are you?"
"My name is Daichi Hikari! Whats your name?"
"My name? My name...... IS MUGENDRAMON!!" The digimon said as it rose up. The glowing had faded and the dragon digimon was large four legged standing, with blue and yellow scales, and one sharp horn on it's head.
"Awesome!" Daichi said in amazement.
"Where does noob like him get a digimon like that!" Jack said. "No matter! I'll defeat it! Jaywingmon! ATTACK!"
Jaywingmon got ready to charge at Mugendramon until Mugendramon looked behind him. He saw Jaywingmon flying in for an attack so Mugendramon stopped Jaywingmon with his tail. "Unbelievable! He hit Jaywingmon with a strike of his tail." Jack said in astounishment.
As Daichi watched his digimon battle three cards suddenly materialized themselves in the air and flew down as Daichi grabbed them when they came to him. Each card had a picture of a move and written with an effect. Daichi realized they were like the cards Jack was using for Jaywingmon. "These must be attacks!" Daichi grabbed one of the cards and put the other 2 in his pocket.
He looked at the card he was going to use as it said "Silver Claw". "Alright this looks like a good one!" Daichi slashed the Silver Claw card through his digivice's card reader as he yelled "CARD SLASH!"
Suddenly Mugendramon's claws started glowing and he dashed off to Jaywingmon. Jaywingmon tried fly out of the way but was too late as he was tackled by Mugendramon.
With his mighty claw Mugendramon slashed Jaywingmon as he yelled "SILVER CLAW STRIKE!" defeating Jaywingmon.
Jack could not believe the outcome of the battle as his best digimon was defeated. "NOOOO! I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE MY REVENGE!!" He said in agonizing defeat.
Mugendramon landed back on the ground with a hard stomp on all of his fours. He spread out his wings and looked down at Daichi. "You must be my partner." the digimon said.
Daichi looked up at his dragonic champion. With a big smile on his face he was excited with what would be fighting with him side by side.
