Episode 45: Back in the Real World
((Alright, here it is: The continuation of Digimon Legends, finally. So what if its two months after I initially made this thread, ah well. I guess I could make this like
Neo Chronicles and throw in a little recap of the previous episodes, or not. I don't know depends on what I feel like doing. Like now, I should be finishing my homework, but I'm not. I'll get on it later, hopefully. Oh yeah, about that recap, forget it. XP))
The two young warriors of the Digital Realm fought and fought until one emerged victorious. And so the climactic battle between rage and passion ended with the one remaining. In a flash of darkness and light, DJ stands, clad in his grey pants, and a short-sleeved shirt, unbuttoned, to reveal a black under shirt, wielding one of his Data Swords as a defensive weapon to Kayne's sword, and the other Data Sword, piercing through the heart of the digital embodiment of rage, as his calm white aura and fierce blue lightning surges around his light brown skin.
"Why?" Kayne asks. Tears begin to fall down his pale white face. Clearly, the aura of evil has taken a toll on his once vigorous appearence. Kayne's tears are faint, but you can tell that he's crying. "Why wasnt I able to win?" he asks softly. The black aura around him slowly dies down as the red electricity surging across his body makes its last few sparks.
"What the mess? I've been telling you this whole battle! Your soul's too dark. You've let that devil control you and in the end, that's what led to your downfall!" DJ explains. The blades on both of the D-warriors, digivices fades away.
Falling on his hands and knees, the black aura evaporates from Kayne and rematerializes into his digital companion Dorumon. The cobalt furred baby dragon like creature slowly moves towards his master. "Kayne..." Kayne himself dresses primarily in black, from his shirt, which has only one, short sleeve, to his pants.
After letting out a sigh of relief, the spirit of his DX form leaves DJ as well. White data escapes from his body in the same manner that it did Kayne, and materializes itself into his two digital companions, the yellow lizard-like baby dinosaur, Agumon, and the yellow mammal-like creatured, wearing its white, blue spotted fur as a type of jacket, Gabumon. Both of the creatures are about waist high to DJ.
"Alright then," DJ, still holding his D-breakers firmly in each hand, takes a look at his once powerful opponent. "Putting that whole fight aside, it was pretty cool fighting as one with you guys." He tries to ease the tenseness within the atmosphere, by making small talk with his partners.
"Yeah, that was fun," Agumon replies.
"I agree," Gabumon states.
"What about you, Kayne?" DJ now turns his attention once again to his opponent. He unveals a slight smirk, still trying to add a sense of peace.
Kayne rises to his feet, as Dorumon stares up to him. "Yeah, that was cool." Although the two were trying to kill each other, just moments ago, a sense of temporary mutual peace emits from the them. Dorumon smiles as a result, for this is the first time, in a long time, that Kayne has shown any signs of humanity, as the boy's face reflects a slight happiness, but not so much as happiness, just peace. It's as if a huge burden was lifted from him, whatever that burden may be.
Footsteps approach in a hurry. Bolting through the door that DJ and his digimon had come through, Noah and his digimon arrive at the scene. "Yo, what I miss?" Noah wears a simple attair: blue jeans and a long sleeved red shirt. His hair, as always, is a random mess, and his skin is of a caremel complexion.
"Yeah, what I miss?" Guilmon, the red dinosaur like creature, who stands at about shoulder high to his partner, Noah.
"Where's Kai?" One couldn't help but notice the absence of one's fellow D-warrior.
"Oh, well, after we took care of those annoying, extemely annoying, digimon," Noah emphasizes on how annoying the digimon they faced were. He can't help but stop midway in his sentence, but thankfully Guilmon was there to finish it.
"Kai left."
"Left? Left where?" DJ asks.
"I don't know, maybe to the real world to fight there," Noah answers.
"You had better head there, too." Kayne interjects into their conversation in his usual bad manner attitude. "Devimon's no where near here, so staying waiting for him would be futile. If you have any hopes of saving both worlds, you'd best head to the real world." With that, he and Dorumon make their way to the stairway, passing by both D-warriors and digimon, they take their leave.
Left confused over the whole situation, Noah simply says, "Okay." Guilmon simply wonders what that was about. "Did he just give us advice?"
"Agh, I'm so confused," Guilmon says.
DJ chuckles over the situation. "Never mind that, let's just go." Using one of his D-breakers, he opens a digital gate to the world beyond. The whole party walks through.
Now in the real world, DJ and Noah, along with their digimon run, with as much speed as their bodies can physically handle, down the street of the big city. They all take note of the amount of chaos the world is in. Dark digimon of the skies terrorize the ground below, dark digimon of the earth wreak havoc along the streets of America and the whole world, and dark digimon of the seas plague pirates and navymen alike through the vast reaches of the ocean.
"Alright, so what's the plan?" Agumon asks while keeping up along side DJ.
"Uh, I don't know. Any ideas, Noah?" DJ says, shifting the question to Noah.
"Uh, fight real hard, get the bad digimon back to the digizone, something along those lines." All of those ideas do seem pretty important, but its something of a big duh.
DJ then comes up with the suggestion, "How about we split up. We'd be able to cover more ground that way."
"Sounds good."
"Cool, Agumon, Gabumon, lets test out that spirit form, again."
Both of DJ's companions are eager to do so. Noah and Guilmon are left in the dark as to what this spirit form is, so as anyone who has a question, they ask, "What's spirit form?"
"It's that other form of Soul Drive, Angemon was talking about," Gabumon answers.
"How do you do it?" Guilmon asks.
"Like this," taking out both of his D-breakers, DJ, along with Agumon and Gabumon, emit a blinding aura of white light. The light then quickly fades, revealing DJ. Agumon and Gabumon had merged with their tamer, so are not anywhere to be found.
Noah takes note of the blue electricity surging from his friend's body and says, "Uh, what just happened?"
"Heh, it's the second form of DX Soul Drive, Spirit Form."
"Nice, so what's the point of it?"
With a smirk, DJ bursts foward in a stream of white light, leaving Noah in the dust. Indeed, Noah is surprised at the drastic increase in speed that DJ had just displayed. No human alive could do something as great as that, so he realized that it had to have been a direct result of fusing with his digimon.
"Noah?" Guilmon is still lost over the whole spirt form thing. "Where'd Agumon and Gabumon go?"
Noah is left astounded over the denseness of his partner. "Never mind that, Guilmon. Let's just try using DX Soul Drive."
"Okay," Guilmon says. He dissipates into a red embodiment of data and merges with Noah.
Undergoing a transformation, just as DJ and Kayne before him, Noah feels the immense power behind this "Spirit Form" technique and is impressed. "Alright, this is more like it." In a bolt of red light, he blazes off into battle.
Somewhere off in the digi-infested city of New York, a young brown headed boy stands in confusion over the horrific sight of this Digital Terror. The boy wears a long sleeved shirt, which is primarily green with blue and red stripes across the chest, and blue jeans. "Uh, Terriermon..."
"Yeah, Jace?" A small white rabbit, standing on two feet says, as it looks up to it's partner, while its long ears trail along the ground.
"It looks like we have a lot of work to do."
"Yeah, let's get crackin'!" The bunny says with fire in his eyes. As Jace unveals his D-breaker, Terriermon leaps upward in the air, and cries out, "Terriermon matrix digivolve to..." Becoming surrounded by a stream of data, the bunny undergoes a digital transformation. The data then dissipates into thin air, leaving a new creature, of a taller, more battle ready digimon. Clad in golden armor, the creature calls out its name,
"Rapidmon!"
Returning down south to the state of Alabama, DJ stands, wielding both of his D-breakers as Data swords, or D-blades, whatever sounds cooler, in the face of terror. A large group of overgrown green sludge-like
slugs infest the downtown area of the city. They cover the tall structures and streets. The common people flee in fear, but not fear of the giant green monsters, but of the hellish stench they leave behind.
"Ugh, of all the digimon: Numemon?" Disgusted over the amount of trash, he has to clean up, DJ prepares himself for battle. "Might as well get this over with." Blasting forward, he shreds through a few of the slug-like menances. Their data particles dissipate into the air.
I wonder what happens to data in the real world? Does it get re-used like in the digizone?Seeing their fallen comrades slain before their eyes, the remaining Numemon find it best to band together in order to take out the boy. In a crazed frenzy, they throw themselves against DJ using the only fighting methods they know.
"Gah!" Once again, disgusted by their tactics, DJ pushes the Numemon away in a type of explosive wave created from his body. "Alright, let's just wrap this up." Charging both his data swords with sparking energy, he swings both of them forward, creating a white cross-like wave of light that vaporizes the remaining Numemon in an instant.
Elsewhere, Noah continues running across town, leaving a trail of red light behind him. Speeding across a bridge, he spots his a long-haired girl wearing a brown tank top over a light blue shirt. Her shorts are a of a brown color as well. She and her
tall, slender, rabbit-like digital companion stand confronting a
large red beetle like creature. Calling her from above, Noah shouts, "Marie!"
Turning to the voice, the girl cries out, "Noah!" as her brown hair is brushed across her face by the wind.
Just then, the beetle like creature strikes the rabbit digimon with one of its claws. Leaping with grace, the rabbit, Antylamon evades. "Glad you could come," she says with her back facing Noah. "Care to help out?"
"Gladly," Noah states as his D-breaker emits a red colored blade.
Although the first wave of digital pests have been taken out, still others remain. Well aware of this, DJ ventures into the sewers, despite his instincts to venture away from the stench. There he is greeted by the low rumbling of a distinct growl.
"Where there's smoke, there's fire." DJ turns to the source and finds a
large ghoul looking monstrosity. Without a doubt, this creature has the most horrid scent of all. "Or in this case, stench."
