Hopefully this is the proper place for this topic. I've been searching for cards from a Digimon vending set from Japan for years now, attempting to finish it. Supposedly the set reached to 200 or so, and was a parallell with the trading cards released by Upper Deck for season 1. They're not game cards, but trading cards, and I've seen a few of the cards beyond the ones Upper Deck released here in the U.S. on Japanese Yahoo auctions. I've tried to ask about these cards on several other Digimon forums, but so far have been met with no information, or else been told they're fakes. I guess the overarching question is whether Upper Deck created the Digimon trading cards from season 1 in the U.S., or simply duplicated Japanese cards, which seems more likely to me. Especially when I see the cards in Japan go beyond the U.S. releases. Does anybody else have any of these cards, or all of these cards? I can post a link to show examples if anyone wants to see 'em. This has been my search for years, and I know somebody out there must have also bought these at some point.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there lessermontamer, it's the novelty of the collection. Of course, I might argue that collecting by nature is searching for a novelty...though I suppose there might be folks out there collecting bulk rolls of paper towels or something. But yeah, it's a card collection I started on a trip to Japan, and have been trying to finish ever since. And since I never got into the game cards, it's pretty much about the first season for me, and the story that went along with it, especially the art of the show.

Well, I love good Digimon cards as much as the next mon, so I figured I'd update this thread with some fun pics that can be seen at a friend in Singapore's site. It's volume 4 of the Digimon Adventure card set that we never got to see because Upper Deck sucked like a hoover at selling Digimon trading cards. Either way, this is the fun we missed out on here in the U.S.: kazuki1402collection.wordpress.com/category/bandai/carddas/digimon-adventure/
